Why do we have support groups?

We endeavour in each group to share:

As a Family Network member you are welcome to go to any of these groups that interest you.

If you would like to included on the mailing list for any of these groups or activities please contact us.

Information evenings

These evenings are for ALL members of the Network and interested friends. Speakers and topics will be generic, in other words, relevant to all parents regardless of the age and individual needs of your child.

Contact us for the topic, venue and date for the month.

Family Network Lunch Group

If you would like to meet with a group of other Network parents and the Coordinator for conversation and a very pleasant lunch at venues around town, you are very welcome. We usually meet once a month, anytime between 12:00 and 1:30pm, just whatever suits you.

Contact us for the venue and date for the month.

Parents of Teenagers or Young Adults Group

The POTS group meets every 6 to 8 weeks and aims to explore the issues that arise with children in this age group, including transition from school into adulthood.

Currently the focus is on issues around Transition from School. We will need your active involvement as we look at ways to improve the process for young people and their families.

You will be notified of events by phone or email. If you are not currently contacted, please let us know if you are interested in being on this mailing list.

Support Groups

The Family Network has a number of support groups for parents of children with specific needs. These groups are organised in a variety of ways, but are supported by The Network.

Currently this includes:

The Family Holiday Gatherings

Every school holiday we provide an opportunity for families of the Network to meet with each other. From 10 pin bowling to farm visits, these are always popular and a wonderful way to meet up with old friends and new.
